An application of machine learning to haematological diagnosis
The true power of laboratory test results is frequently underestimated because clinical laboratories tend to report test results as individual numerical or categorical values, and physicians concentrate mainly on those values that fall outside a given reference range. Our study is the first to show that a machine learning predictive model based on blood tests alone can be successfully applied to predict haematologic diseases.
